Story
HOLD IT - Before you say to yourself - "Not another fund raising ride for cancer", ......... this time it's personal !!
For me this is really a "kicking the Big C ride"... well 95% sure that is.
2019 was a frustrating year, not the least being diagnosed and treated for throat cancer, but also because as a result of the treatment I wasn't up to doing the distance the 120 klm distance with my cycling group The Phantoms. Instead I had to drop back to the 45 klm social distance, which albeit still enjoyable with my Phantom buddie BigD, it wasn't the same as doing the longer challenge with our entire cycling group.
However.... I'm registered again, and planning to ride, with the Phantoms hopefully, the 2020 Noosa Classic 120 klm distance.
In 2019 as a result of the fantastic care and treatment I received at RBWH Oncology, Lynne and I made our first annual donation to RBWH Foundation as a small token of our appreciation to continue for years to come.
So in 2020, I've coupled doing the 120 klm ride with the donation, to give completing the ride greater meaning to me, apart from of course enjoying a great cycling event in a wonderful part of the world with The Phantoms.
It would be fantastic if our annual donation could get topped up to make the total $1500 or more, so your help would be greatly appreciated?
Who knows maybe Lynne will ride too?
